Chevy Equinox Windshield Replacement Cost.

If you’re hunting a windshield for a Chevy Equinox, then this Auto Glass Locator post should help answer any questions you may have that are related to a Chevy Equinox Windshield Replacement Cost. The costs for a Chevy Equinox can be a little more than what you would expect, and the amount can vary depending on a number of factors. On average, the cost for an Equinox windshield can range from $250 to more than $600.

If you have comprehensive auto insurance coverage, your insurer may cover a portion of the replacement price. If you don’t have auto insurance, you will likely be responsible for paying the entire windshield replacement cost upfront. Some insurance providers may ask you to have the work done and then file a reimbursement claim after completing the job.

Be sure to check the qualifications of the person installing the glass on your Equinox. Before scheduling a service, you may find it helpful to check with your state’s BBB (Better Business Bureau) for complaints or concerns about local auto glass shops.

Why Is The Windshield Replacement For A Chevy Equinox More Expensive Than Other Cars?

Chevy Equinox Windshield Replacement Cost can be more expensive than other cars because of the shape and design of the car. Not only does it have a complicated front, but also the Equinox has curved glass and a slanted roof that can be damaged. The car’s shape also makes it more difficult for mechanics to properly install new windshields.

The tools needed are expensive, so don’t expect to pay a small price for replacing your Equinox windshield. If your insurance company offers to pay for the cost of a new Chevy Equinox windshield, be sure you have an actual written estimate. This will be a great way to save money since the insurance company may give you less than what it would cost.

The Equinox is a unique car requiring special equipment to change its windshields. This is why prices for replacement windshields are so high. Even if you live in a small town with no auto glass shops, your local mechanic can probably still change it for you. However, prepare to pay almost as much as if you went to an actual auto glass service center.

History of the Chevy Equinox.

The Equinox was introduced in the 2005 model year. It is a mid-size SUV manufactured by General Motors and the Buick division of GM. Although it has no larger siblings, its name is slightly smaller than that of the full-size GMC Yukon. The Equinox replaced both the Chevrolet Tracker and the Geo Tracker during the 2007 model year.

The Equinox had the distinction of being GM’s first mid-size SUV, as well as it was the brand’s first new nameplate since 1999. The Equinox came in one body style featuring a rear liftgate with square and rectangular taillights mounted in the corners of the rear hatch glass. However, the headlights didn’t wrap around the corner as they did with other GM SUVs and sat inside of the front turn signals.

The 2009 model year brought some significant changes to the Equinox as well as a second body style. The newer body style had a much more dramatic appearance, with twin bulging headlight lenses mounted on either side of the grille. The taillights were also changed, with a horizontal pattern of squares across the back instead of vertical lights.

Some other changes included standard four-wheel disc brakes and an electronic traction control system. The 2009 model year Equinox was a little smaller than previous models but was still fairly popular. GM had a total of 5 different trim levels available for the 2009 model year. The LS, LT, and LTZ trim lines were powered by the same 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 172 horsepower. A 3.0 liter V6 was optional in the LTZ trim line.

The 2010 model year brought some changes to both the exterior and interior of the Equinox. On the outside, the taillights got some more modern styling as well as a rear spoiler. The grille also received some more detail in the middle to make it look chrome (which is still plastic) instead of just being smooth plastic.

The latest version of the Chevrolet Equinox has a more sleek design than its predecessors. It has a beautiful silver body with sleek black molding. There are two different shapes for the taillights, with one being completely rectangular and the other having two square lights on either side of a dual-lighted triangle, almost in the shape of an arrowhead.

The Equinox is appealing to all types of drivers. Whether you need a small SUV to drive through city streets or a compact car to fit into tight parking spaces, the Equinox is sure to have what you’re looking for. It comes in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions.
