4 Steps to install a Honda Talon windshield:
The 4 steps below do not include the removal process for the old windshield. These steps are for the installation process only.
- Remove the protective film from both sides of the new window.
- Install the rubber seal on the lower portion of the window. This will help the windshield sit firmly on the body. You may need to trim the length of the seal if it’s new and extends too far past the left and right edges of the window.
- Install the upper cage foam to help hold the top in place.
- Place the top of the windshield into the upper frame just below the roof. Be sure the curved portion of the window is facing outward during this step.
- Make sure it’s centered then attach the upper and lower clamps to hold it in place.

Do I need to hire a professional to replace the windshield?
No, you can buy the Talon windshield and replace it yourself. As you can see from the video above, the process is pretty simple and doesn’t require a lot of tools.
Is the Honda Talon Windshield DOT certified
The Talon windshield is DOT approved. It is made from a polycarbonate material which is the same material used in most helmets and goggles. The DOT certification means it will not shatter upon impact. However, they do tend to break more often than a standard car windshield. Not because of the material but more because it’s driven off-road. This makes it more open to getting hit by rocks or tree branches. Especially if you’re driving through small trails in the woods.
What sizes are available?
The Talon windshield is available in half sizes and full sizes. There are 3 different heights for the half-size windows. There’s a 4″, 5″, and 6″. The 6″ windshield works great for anyone over 6 feet tall. The 5″ windshield would be just about right for anyone with an average height of 5 foot 8 inches. For anyone 5 feet and under, the 4″ to 4 1/2″ options would work best.
How much do they cost?
Prices vary from place to place and depend on the size you buy. The average cost can be as low as $150 or as high as $400 for the more feature-packed windows that fold or come with vents. Some companies will offer free shipping which can help save on the overall price.
Is there a factory warranty?
No. The off-road lifestyle can be hard on any part of your car let alone your windshield. All aftermarket parts are considered to not have a warranty so it’s up to you to replace damaged parts.
Can I buy them online?
Yes, many ATV companies do offer an online shop where you can buy them, usually with free shipping. Amazon is also a great place to pick them up for a great price.
Are they scratch resistant?
The window is made from polycarbonate so it’s not scratch resistant. However, the UTVZILLA glass version is one windshield that doesn’t attract dust like the other windows and is more scratch-resistant. This windshield also has vents on the driver and passenger sides that are adjustable to help keep the driver and passenger cool.
Are the windows tinted?
No. The Talon windshield doesn’t come tinted. However, there are tinted versions available or you can hire a professional to tint the clear version and save a little money.
Do they fold or flip up?
Some of the Talon windshields are hinged and will fold up and out of the way when not needed. There are a couple of options available when buying a Talon windshield. You can pick from a fixed non-vented, a flip-up, or vented with a wiper. Just make sure you select the option that works best with your lifestyle.
Do they break easily?
No. However, since it’s made of polycarbonate, it can still break if you hit something too hard. They also tend to fade over time depending on the weather conditions in your area.
Can they be repaired?
No, the Honda Talon windshield is not made like the front windshield on your car which has 2 layers of glass with a separation between them to help withstand pressure. This makes it easy to inject resin to repair the outer layer when it’s chipped or cracked. The Talon windshield is a single piece of polycarbonate that only has one layer for protection. It’s recommended to simply replace the windshield if it’s damaged.
What do rear windows cost?
The rear window cost is typical $160 to $250 depending on the vendor and whether it’s clear or tinted.
What do side windows cost?
Not all Honda Talons come with side windows. For the ones that don’t, you’ll need to purchase aftermarket windows. They are usually double zipped, polished vinyl windows that can be rolled down to increase airflow thru the cab. You’ll find most side windows start at $649.
