Chevy Volt windshield replacement cost

Chevy Volt Windshield Replacement Cost.

When calling for a Chevy Volt windshield replacement cost, you’ll generally be quoted prices between $350 and $500 on average. The door glass will be around $250 while the back glass will run around $450. This will most likely be the out-of-pocket cost unless you plan to file an insurance claim for the work.

If you have comprehensive insurance, it’s possible that you’ll only be responsible for your deductible when having the windshield replaced should you decide to file a claim. Some auto glass shops will waive the deductible or cut it in half to help earn your business and save you money. Before you file an insurance claim, be sure to find out if the deductible is low enough to save you money over paying cash.

Additional Chevy Volt Maintenance

It’s a good idea to perform other regular maintenance on your Chevy Volt to ensure it stays in good condition. Having maintenance performed during its recommended schedule will ensure that your vehicle performs well for many years to follow. The following are some of the maintenance services we recommend.

History of the Chevy Volt

The Chevrolet Volt is an all-electric four-door hatchback economy car unveiled by General Motors (GM) on June 1, 2008, at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. Initial production of the Volt began in the fall of 2010 as a 2011 model year vehicle, and sales of the car started in December 2010 as a 2012 model year vehicle. The Volt operates in charge-depleting mode (the electric range is approximately 35 to 50 miles) until it reaches 25% battery capacity, after which one of the engine’s cylinders will start and provide power. The Volt can be charged by connecting it to either a standard 120-V outlet or a 240-V dedicated charger that takes around six hours.

A prototype of the second-generation Chevrolet Volt was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show on January 13, 2015. It introduced a new drivetrain layout featuring a T-shaped battery pack that expanded the car’s range on a single charge and is more cost-effective to manufacture. The second-generation Volt had an all-electric range of 50 miles. A new charging station capable of delivering 80% charge in just 20 minutes was made available for the 2016 model year along with several other new features.

The 2020 Chevrolet Volt has an all-electric range of 53 miles and a gasoline engine that aims to push the overall efficiency rating above 50 mpg. The 2021 Chevrolet Volt is expected to arrive with an additional 9 miles of electric range, bringing the total up to 62.
