Glass Options

The automated technology for the BMW X3 has improved since the introduction of the first model in 2003. It now features a rearview camera, automatic high beams, and a lane departure warning system. These systems help drivers stay safe while driving and cause the windshield replacement cost to be higher than usual since cameras for driver assistance systems require recalibration to work correctly.

There are glass options to help you save money when selecting a replacement windshield. For example, an aftermarket option can reduce weight without sacrificing strength. In addition, OEM versions of your windshield that match the dealer’s specifications but don’t come with the manufacturer’s logo typically found on BMW auto glass.

If you’re not concerned about cost, ask for dealer glass, but if you’re searching for a lower price, choosing an aftermarket windshield can save up to 40 percent off the dealership’s prices.

Recommended Automotive Services

The BMW X3 has a lot going for it – excellent handling, comfortable seats, and a spacious interior. But if you want to keep this vehicle running at its best, you should know what kind of care it needs. Here’s a checklist of things you should check every year and some tips for keeping your X3 looking new for longer.

Check Your Air Filter – Your air filter helps remove dust particles from the air before they enter your engine. If you notice any dirt or debris stuck inside the filter, replace it immediately. You can do so by removing the cover on the bottom of the intake manifold. Once you’ve removed the cover, look for the air filter located under the hood. Remove the old filter and place the new one into position. Replace the cover and tighten down all bolts.

Have the Oil Changed Regularly – You may think that changing the oil in your car is only necessary once in six months, but that’s not true. Changing the oil more often will ensure that your engine runs smoothly and efficiently. In addition, be sure to use quality oil during the process. A great rule of thumb is to buy the same brand as your original oil.

Change Your Brakes – Brakes wear out over time and must be replaced regularly. Check them periodically to see if they need to be serviced. If you notice any unusual noises coming from your brakes, have them inspected right away.

Replace Your Tires – Tires are another essential part of your vehicle. They provide traction and stability on the road. Rotating your tires every 6,000 miles or 12 months can help you get the most life out of them. Also, rotating the tires when you have the oil changed is a good rule of thumb.

Get a Tune-Up – Have your vehicle tuned up every two years to ensure everything works well together and your engine continues running at peak performance.

A Little BMW X3 History

The BMW X3 was initially released in 2003, but its design has changed significantly over the years. It started as a compact crossover SUV but now features a longer wheelbase and larger wheels than before. In addition, the interior has been redesigned several times to improve comfort and safety.

1st Generation: 2003-2010 – This version of the X3 received a facelift in 2007. It was equipped with a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine, as well as a four-wheel drive system.

2nd Generation: 2011-2017 – This version has seen major changes to its exterior design and powertrain. It was powered by either a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine or a 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine and featured the option of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

3rd Generation: 2018 – This is the latest version of the BMW X3. It has been heavily redesigned and now has the option of a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine or a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine. It also features an updated interior design and technology package.
